Below are each of our responsibility lists.
Jenni’s:
- pack lunches
- turn off water heater and pump
- verify fridge is on propane power
- turn off heater and AC
- clear kitchen counter
- secure closet bins
- stow computer gear
- make sure fridge and freezer doors are completely latched
- turn off fireplace
- put camera in truck
- turn off inverter
- check that slider tracks are clear
- double check the girls’ responsibilities
- check all closet doors
- pack the school work bin
Kristin’s:
- fold up your bed
- fill your water bottle
- clean and clear your room
- put away all personal items
- sweep floor
- verify that all windows are shut
- bring in the name plaque
- clear bathroom counters
- secure the shower door
- take all water bottles to the truck
- put your own reading/entertainment items in truck
Emily’s:
- help fold bed
- clean your room
- fill your water bottle
- put away outdoor picnic table items
- help sweep floor
- remove rat’s water bottle
- check that both pocket doors are secured
- check that all cabinets are completely latched
- bungee cord the kitchen cabinets and pantry doors
- take lunch bag to truck
- put your reading/entertainment items in truck
Kevin’s:
- put down antenna
- retract awnings
- remove water hose
- drain black, gray, and galley tanks
- drain rear black tank
- stow hose and drain pipe supports
- disconnect power and stow cord
- stow EMI unit
- stow generator
- hitch up (this one has it's own long check list)
Joel’s:
- put away anything in your room that might fly
- ladder stowed
- fill your water bottle
- secure dining table and chairs
- folding chair moved to master bed
- close all 3 roof vents
- take out the trash and recycling
- help load bikes onto rack
- extend truck mirrors
- retract sliders
- raise steps and close rail
- raise rear jacks
- storage bins latched and locked
- wheel chocks
And when we arrive at our campground, we do it most all of the above work in reverse order.
After landing and settling in we usually have to get right to dinner preparations. I update the "Where are the Keiters?" page with our new location (assuming we have connectivity) and we look over our options and come up with a rough plan for what to do and see while we are there. If we had a shorter driving day we might have time to check out the town or park before sunset and sometimes a grocery run is in order. And of course, if we got to enjoy a little random roadside America there are photos to upload, process and share, maybe a blog post to write.
