“Know what, Jennay? I am glad we are here together in our nation’s capitol.” -Forrest Gump
I think one or the other of us has said that at least twice each day since we arrived here. We even staged an Instagram photo to go with it, because we are just so cool like that.
Anyway, there is so much to do here it is almost overwhelming, and it is most certainly not conducive to blogging as I feel like I cannot keep up. In two days we have seen the Capitol building, the old Post Office building, Union Station, the Smithsonian Air and Space Museum, most of the Natural History Museum (going back for the mummies), the Sculpture Garden, and a good chunk of the National Gallery of Art. So how about if I just share a few photos and some highlights? There will be more later, if I ever find time to catch up.

The Smithsonian National Air and Space Museum is always a hit. Lots of airplanes and space stuff. In the planet exhibit I overheard a girl say (use your best Valley Girl/Sorority Girl inflection here), "Whoa. I, like, TOTALLY did not know Pluto is not a planet."
Had to go check out the mock up of the Sky Lab module because my Daddy helped build this.

The Museum of Natural History was excellent and especially interesting on the heels of the Creation Museum.
When I got to the room full of mounted animals like moose and pronghorns and Kaibab squirrels I breezed on through thinking, "How cool! We've seen that in real life!"
Kristin studies a collection of sculptures by Degas at the National Gallery of Art. I have been in here long ago and I forgot just how many masterpieces we have here in our country.
The Metro system is fun. I could get used to this.
That dude to the right was just totally determined to photo bomb. I gave up on waiting for him to leave.
All that walking around will tucker you right out.
