Here is Part 2 of our Bryce Canyon experience, a random cobbling of the stuff we did besides hike the hoodoos and reward ourselves with Bacon S’mores. None of this fit nicely into a post about the beauty of the canyon, but we thought it worth sharing. I mean, you KNOW your day is more complete after hearing a raven who apparently swallowed someone’s key fob, right?
Then there were the pronghorn. We have been seeing these cool creatures all over the place since clear back to Texas but not up close until now. They are the fastest land mammal in the western hemisphere, although none of them seemed bent on proving that when we saw them.
We enjoyed one of the darkest night skies in the lower forty-eight and Kevin did some star photography.
We restaged a couple of photos that we had taken when here five years ago.
We had fun in the visitor center bookstore...
Unfortunately, the weather threatened to turn on us so we headed out a day early for Valley of Fire State Park in Nevada. The Collared Boar has already posted his blog on that excellent park and we will share additional photos in a few days. Meanwhile, if you'd like to see more of Bryce Canyon click here for the best from our visit in 2007.
