It's summer. Or so I'm told by all my Florida peeps who keep posting beach and poolside pics on Instagram. I wouldn't know. In the last six weeks I've only seen shorts-and-sandals weather maybe twice. The next time you're feeling envious of our little road trip adventure just think of me shivering out here in Two Layers of Clothing Below Zero, Oregon.
But no, I'm not really complaining. Summer, like every other part of life, is what you make it. In that spirit, we are living it up as best we know how despite the fact that it doesn't feel at all like summer.
We eat outside.

We eat outside.
We play frisbee on the beach.
We get ice cream (in winter clothing, I know)
We eat S'mores before dinner, because we might be too tired afterward and one should never take that risk.
We chase seagulls off our stuff. Okay, so that one is JUST like Florida, only here they're big enough to haul off entire bags of food. He dropped it when he noticed it was dried apricots.
Like Phineas & Ferb said, "Why have snow in the winter when it's too cold to enjoy it?" Let's have Swinter instead. It might not be Florida, but it's not a half-bad trade.
