But you know what did impress me? Emily. She has her own little camera that we got her for her birthday and it turns out that without a lick of coaching she has a mean eye. So I took her out early one morning and we began photography class.
When I say "photography class," what I mean is, we walked around and I made minor suggestions about how to find a nice angle or what setting might work best for what she was trying to accomplish, but I have yet to teach her one single thing about composition. She just gets it. I ended up popping my little 50mm lens on my SLR to make it light enough for her to hand hold and I let her go. We are not ready for a complete discussion of aperture and shutter speed so I helped with the settings in full manual mode, but this is what she did.
Look out, Peter Lik. Someone wants your job.
