Remember that creative retreat I went to down in California a month ago? Well, today I want to share with you some of the fruit of that weekend. My friend, Dallas area portrait photographer Tammy Labuda, was working on a creative project and the rest of us were her willing guinea pigs. Now, one of the reasons I love being our family photographer is that it gives me a splendid excuse to hide on the safe end of the camera. Normally I would be absolutely loathe to share a post full of photos of myself because it not only feels awkward, but mainly because I have never ever EVER seen a photo of myself that I liked. Tammy is such a genius she just changed all that. Click here to read her post and see the portraits. You may also recall our time with the Boyinks last month. On every free day available Joel and Harrison worked on a Lego stop-motion movie project. Although this was not their first effort, it was their first lengthy collaborative project and I am really, really proud of the results. Not everything went as planned, which served to further the learning experience for them. Joel and Harrison created the entire project from screenplay to sound recording to editing with almost no help from anyone and Joel even taught himself to use Final Cut Pro in the editing process. I am a firm believer that when you let a kid pursue his passions not only will he teach himself more than you can, but you will NOT be able to stop him. This is why we love homeschooling. Click here to see the finished project. We are currently in North Cascades National Park, which is the second least visited park in the country, a statistic that makes me go, "REALLY?" This place is only two hours from Seattle and unbelievably beautiful. We will be sharing photos for the next few days until we enter Canada. Then I am not sure what will happen to our data plan and blogging capability. If the cost of uploading new posts is prohibitive we might take a short break. So if all signs of us go dark for two weeks (blog, Facebook, Instagram) just know we probably did not become grizzly bear fodder, just out of coverage until we get to Montana. -Jenni

I am so excited you are going to the Canadian Parks. Do you have plans to go to the Columian Icefields? That was my favorite place.

Yes, definitely. We are eager to see the Athabasca Glacier again. And moose. Mooses? Meese?
