We saw the Korean War, Vietnam, and World War II Memorials. Even after sunset there were plenty of veterans and current military personnel around for us to thank. Earlier in the day we had spoken with a gentleman who had served during Vietnam in D.C., never leaving American soil, never seeing combat. He told us how as he walked down the street in uniform he would be called "baby killer" and other hateful names. He harbored no bitterness. In fact, he was pretty optimistic and happy, pleased to have been able to serve his country in whatever capacity.
I am not eloquent enough to do proper service to our veterans with words, so I did what I could with photos. Enjoy.
