Things started out well yesterday. We met the neighbors right off (parking what looks like a trans-Atlantic shipping vessel on the street tends to draw people out of doors). Our plan was to have Kevin and the kids do the unloading while I stayed inside and unloaded bags for reuse and shuffled items around. We figured it might take an hour.
All was going well for roughly six minutes, when the momentum caught up to me. Four people unloading can overtake one person unbagging and shuffling VERY quickly and at some point I turned around, surveyed the unbelievably large pile of goods on the floor and cried aloud (to no on in particular because they were all outside making trip #813), "WHAT HAPPENED? DID IT EXPLODE?!?!" How did we ever get that much stuff inside that rig? And more importantly, why?
Ahem.
It will be great to be able to spread out a bit more for school work and to have guests over for dinner without one or more people having to eat while standing. With the return of colder weather I will be appreciating well-insulated walls. I can grow tomatoes and herbs and have a compost bin! We have this really excellent little piece of wetland right out our back door. A raccoon was even on the back porch this morning to welcome me.
