Profanity might also have been tempting had we not been mercifully saved from running out of gas. In my van when the little gas light came on it meant you had approximately 54 miles to find a gas station. In Jose with no trailer you have maybe 20 or 30. When Jose has to pull Moby Dick uphill into a headwind you have only fifteen. And yes, we used every yard of that fifteen miles, talking to Jose and lovingly patting the dashboard saying, "You can do it! Don't bonk!"
"Well it goes through St. Loo-wee, Boston, Missouri, Oklahoma City is oh so gritty!
You should see Amarillo, Gollum, New Mexico
Don't forget Winona, she lives in Arizona
KLINGONS! BITHLO! ST. AUGUSTINO!"
Clearly it is time for me to download some new music.
This wind has kicked up some serious dust. It was eerie looking. I shot a few photos when I ventured out into town for groceries. I would post them but this internet connection is even slower than yesterday's.
Tomorrow we head into Big Bend National Park. I have wanted to see this one for years now. It is one of the least visited parks, partly because it is pretty remote. Which means we'll be off the grid for about five days. When we return I will have lots and lots of photos to share.
And hopefully, an entirely new piece of music stuck in my head.
