We feel no differently. We travel on to other places of astounding beauty, but Yosemite is just unique. It can't be explained. You just have to experience it. Below are a few shots from the past days. No more words.
Just crazy beauty.
There is an old story told about Yosemite National Park. A visitor walks up to a park and ranger and says, "I have only one day here. What should I do?" The ranger responds, "Sit down and have yourself a good cry." We have been here for almost a full two weeks and now that it is time to leave I could about do the same. There is a reason people from all over the world flock to the valley to stare at Half Dome and Bridalveil Fall and why climbers spend days scaling El Capitan. John Muir walked across the Sierra Nevada mountains and got "bogged down" here for forty years. Ansel Adams had trouble leaving too. We feel no differently. We travel on to other places of astounding beauty, but Yosemite is just unique. It can't be explained. You just have to experience it. Below are a few shots from the past days. No more words. Just crazy beauty. We will be visiting Yosemite later this summer for the first time. I can't wait to get out there with my family. We recently watched the Ken Burns documentary series on the National Parks and it gave us such a yearning to go to Yosemite. Your pictures are amazing. Thank you for sharing them.

Hey Annabel: We greatly enjoyed the Ken Burns series as well. If we hadn't already been to Yosemite, I would have thought they gave that park too much attention compared to the others. BUT, having been there, we don't think it is possible to overplay that place! Summer can be crazy busy in the Valley so we'd recommend taking some time to see some of the less crowded places along Tioga Pass, Hetch Hetchy and just hanging out in the El Cap meadows. I'm sure you'll love the place!
