Yes, we are "home," but we are not quite finished.
We were gone for 326 days and the remaining three weeks of our voyage will be spent enjoying all those Florida things we never have done because, you know, we lived here. Stuff like the Everglades and the Keys, Biscayne National Park and the Dry Tortugas. The kids have never hunted for seashells on Sanibel Island or seen a really big gator (less than 6 feet long is kind of average) or gone snorkeling within arms reach of a barracuda. There are more things to check off the bucket lists.
If you've been following our recent adventures and are scratching your head in confusion about how we got here so quickly, I can explain. I think I mentioned awhile back that our blog is usually a few days behind reality. Because I spent the past month trying to focus more on living my life rather than blogging it I got WAY behind. We were well south of New York City before you finished reading about Washington DC. If you ever want to know where we really are you should click here. It's nearly always up to date. Or follow us on Instagram. I always get that one right, mainly because the geotag does the work for me.
And so here we are now in Destin, where daytime highs are in the 70s and we can get in the Gulf waters without our blood immediately congealing. We have three glorious days of sun and sand and, wait for it...WEARING SHORTS! After that we are headed further south to check out the last three national parks on our current docket.
Stay tuned...these bloggers are not finished just yet.

P.S. We are working on a list of "the best of..." to help sum up our year, and some of you have asked questions that help immensely. Questions like, "Where did you find the best coffee?" or "What was your scariest moment?" "Which hike was your favorite/longest/most epic?" and "Who is Jeff?" Send us more questions, please! We want to do some fun wrap-up blog posts after Christmas but it will be so much better with your input!
